Marche Region
The Marche region, known as the “Region of Theatres“, is home to one of Europe’s most extraordinary systems of historic theatres: a network of 62 historic theatres, born from the original model of Italian-style condominium theatres and a symbol of the region’s cultural identity. For over three centuries, these theatres have been places of participation, culture and performance, and today they are at the heart of a UNESCO serial property that recognises their exceptional historical, social and cultural value as shared heritage.
