Teatro Nicola Antonio Angeletti

The Teatro Angeletti in Sant'Angelo in Pontano was built between 1873 and 1883. The ceiling is decorated with medallions depicting portraits of Rossini, Goldoni, Alfieri, and Bellini, alternating with allegories of the four main theatrical arts. The neoclassical curtain shows a bust of Nicola Antonio Angeletti among the Muses of the Arts. After nearly 40 years of closure, the theater reopened in 2007, but the 2016 earthquake rendered it unusable again. Its construction began in 1873 on the initiative of the Società Filodrammatica, which transformed three rooms of the old town hall into a single hall. The theatre opened on 16 September 1883. The decorations were curated by Pietro Giovannetti and Enrico Andreani.
