Teatro Comunale Domenico Alaleona

The Teatro Novelli, built in 1916 on private initiative, has a particular rectangular plan distributed over three levels. After hosting theatrical activities until 1973, it was reopened only in 1994, thanks to a careful restoration. The building, in neoclassical style, is distinguished by smooth ashlar on both levels, Ionic pilasters decorating the windows and a triangular pediment crowning the top. Internally, the structure includes a balcony surrounding the hall. The reopening work includes structural interventions such as consolidating the seabed, installing steel tie rods, the “sewing and unstitching” of the walls, building an air-filled cavity, and resurfacing the roof.
