Teatro la Fenice

The history of the Teatro La Fenice in Amandola testifies, in the Marche region, to the presence of the first signs of local secular performances as early as the fifteenth century. In the past, there was a performance hall within the Praetorial Palace, but in 1698 was felt the need for a larger, more modern building. Interest in the theatrical world gradually also involved public administrators, as demonstrated by some municipal resolutions of 1714 and several restoration interventions in 1734. The Teatro La Fenice, later renovated in the 19th century, today features neoclassical-liberty decorations of Vincenzo Pascucci. Closed since 1958, the theatre has once again undergone a long restoration that began in 1991.
