Teatro Condominiale la Fortuna

The Teatro Condominiale La Fortuna was born in 1757, transforming an old oil mill owned by Giovanni Battista Bracchi into a performance hall thanks to the will of 18 notables. The building, rectangular in plan, was lowered by one floor compared to the street, with an entrance on Via Marconi. Initially, without boxes, it had only seats in the stalls, but the proceeds from the first performances allowed the addition of two orders of boxes, for a total of 22. The structure was restored between 1926 and 1928 under the guidance of Tarcisio Guadagnini, who added four new stages in the proscenium. Declared unfit to use in 1966, the municipality acquired ownership to begin its renovation. The façade, simple and linear, features three vertical sections with pilasters, an arched attic and the inscription “Teatro Condominale”. Inside, the boxes are decorated with banded balustrades and ornamental motifs of festoons and crowns, lending elegance to the room.
